JTL Industries has unveiled plans for a significant capacity expansion with the commissioning of a new Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) pipe manufacturing line, aimed at catering to the high-grade ASTM/API pipe market.
The upcoming line will enhance JTL’s manufacturing capabilities with the following specifications:
Round pipes: 6” to 20” (168 mm OD to 508 mm OD)
Square sections: 130 mm x 130 mm to 400 mm x 400 mm
Rectangular sections: 100 mm x 160 mm to 300 mm x 500 mm
Thickness range: 4 mm to 16 mm
This facility will add an impressive 3,00,000 MTPA to the company’s annual capacity, further strengthening its position in the value-added, high-strength pipe segment. The new line is expected to be fully operational within the next 12 months.
In a statement, JTL Industries’ management said:
“This strategic investment reflects our long-term vision of diversifying into premium-grade segments such as oil & gas, water transmission, and city gas distribution (CGD), where EBITDA margins typically range between ?7,000 to ?8,000 per metric tonne. This expansion will be a major value driver for the business.”
The move marks JTL’s foray into higher-thickness, API-compliant products, making it one of the few Indian manufacturers capable of producing large-diameter, high-thickness ERW pipes that meet API-grade standards. Once operational, the facility will offer over 500 SKUs, enabling JTL to meet complex, customized requirements across infrastructure and industrial applications.
Supported by a strong distribution network and proven execution capabilities, JTL is confident in scaling this high-margin segment efficiently. This development reinforces JTL Industries’ position as a future-ready, technically advanced leader in the API-grade steel pipe market—both in India and select global territories.
