SpiceJet has signed a lease agreement for five additional Boeing 737 aircraft, bolstering its fleet in time for the Winter 2025 schedule. Most of the planes will join the fleet in October 2025, with some arriving a few weeks earlier.
The aircraft, to be inducted under damp lease arrangements, will serve through the peak winter season and remain in operation until May 2026, covering the early summer travel period as well.
This move comes on the heels of last month’s announcement to induct five Boeing 737s on damp lease from another operator, bringing total new additions to 10. The airline is also in advanced talks to lease more aircraft before the winter schedule begins.
Commenting on the expansion, Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer at SpiceJet, said the airline is fully prepared to meet rising travel demand, offering passengers more options, improved connectivity, and a dependable travel experience.
