Power & Instrumentation (Gujarat) Limited (PIGL) has secured a favourable arbitration award of Rs 4.09 crore, along with interest at 18% per annum from September 15, 2025 until the date of actual payment. The order was issued on September 15, 2025, by the Honourable Arbitral Tribunal under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, in the matter of PIGL versus Chennai Port Trust.
The dispute arose from a March 21, 2014 agreement for providing power supply arrangements for the Navy at Madhusudan Jetty in Chennai Port Trust. The Tribunal’s ruling affirms PIGL’s contractual rights, recognising its execution of specialised electrical infrastructure work and securing rightful compensation for the company.
PIGL said the award reinforces its reputation as a reliable partner in high-value electrical contracting and infrastructure projects, while underscoring the importance of accountability and due legal process in large-scale infrastructure works.
